An opportunity is available for a General (Motor & Non- Motor) Mobile Assessor within the Adjustment Services Department based in Windhoek, Namibia.
What will you do?
The purpose of this position is to determine the quantum and merit of segmented non-motor and motor claims by performing on-site assessments, verifying loss circumstances, negotiating with clients, intermediaries and service providers, and settling claims within delegated authority and policy conditions.
What will make you successful in this role?
The candidate will be expected to perform (but not limited to) the following duties:
- Assess motor and non-motor claims against quotations and damage observations;
- Decide on repair, replacement or cash settlement within mandate;
- Arrange and conduct on-site assessments with clients;
- Prepare claims assessment reports and communicate outcomes to clients and intermediaries;
- Determine market value of vehicles for settlement purposes;
- Determine value at risk for building claims;
- Update claims systems and upload all relevant documentation;
- Authorize repairs with suppliers and motor body repairers;
- Manage complaints, queries and stakeholder interactions effectively;
- Manage client expectations regarding turnaround times;
- Meet departmental performance targets and contribute to continuous improvement;
- Commit to self-development and continuous professional growth.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 22 points in Grade 11 (new curriculum) or 12 (old curriculum);
- Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Automotive or related technical field (e.g. Panel Beater, Diesel Mechanic);
- Short-term Insurance qualification (Principles of Insurance);
- Minimum of 5 years assessing experience in motor and non-motor claims;
- Sound knowledge of Commercial and Personal Lines insurance products;
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Abuntex system knowledge (advantage);
- Valid driver’s license;
- Must be a Namibian citizen.
Foreign qualifications must be submitted with an evaluation report from the Namibia Qualification Authority (NQA).
