Legal Clerk-Intern: Motor Recovery and Liability

Santam Namibia is looking for a dynamic individual to join the Recovery & Liability Department in Windhoek, Namibia.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing third-party claims and recoveries and must demonstrate full competence in the third-party indemnification process. This includes assessing liability, negotiating settlements, handling legal documentation, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims in accordance with policy terms and legal requirements.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE?

The candidate will be expected to perform (but not limited to) the following duties:
• The person will be responsible for his/her own portfolio.
• Communicating and interacting effectively with people at all levels.
• Assisting in the support and development of a team of people to ensure service delivery.
• Ensuring adherence to policies, legislative requirements.
• Ensuring compliance to contracted service levels and optimization of processes.
• Managing external and internal relationships.
• Achieving monthly targets as per performance contract.
• Attending to escalations from other insurers and client queries where necessary.
• Negotiation of settlement with third party insurers on an ad hoc basis.
• Assisting Management with approvals and negotiations

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Pass mark in Grade 11 (New Curriculum) or Grade 12(Old Curriculum) with a minimum of 22 marks
• Tertiary qualification
• Short- term Insurance related qualification will be advantageous
• Two – four years’ experience in a similar role.
• Claims experience, insurance product and motor vehicle knowledge will be an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and office administration systems.
• Namibian citizen
Foreign qualifications must be submitted with an evaluation report from the Namibia Qualification Authority (NQA).
